Individual Therapy
People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some are living with debilitating mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression or overwhelming stress. Others feel stuck, disconnected from themselves or uncertain about the future. Some are navigating significant life transitions, relationship difficulties, caring responsibilities, health conditions or questions about their identity. Many simply know that life has become harder than it once was, without being able to explain exactly why.
Therapy provides a space to slow down and make sense of these experiences.
My role is to help you understand yourself more fully—how your experiences, relationships, beliefs, biology and environment interact to shape the difficulties you are facing today.
Some clients come with clear goals and benefit from a more structured approach. Others wish to explore longstanding patterns, relationship dynamics or the stories about themselves that have developed over many years. Both approaches are equally valuable, and therapy is tailored to your individual needs.
Whatever brings you to therapy, our work will be collaborative, compassionate and grounded in psychological evidence.
I integrate approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing on the best available evidence while remaining flexible and responsive to your unique needs.
Alongside this, my way of working is strengthened by further training in Systemic and Family Therapy, which encourages us to think beyond symptoms and consider the relationships, patterns and contexts that shape our lives. I also draw on Narrative Therapy, helping people examine the stories they, and others, have about themselves and consider whether those stories still serve them today.
Most clients attend weekly or fortnightly sessions over the short or medium term, although the length of therapy is always discussed together and depends on your individual goals. I offer in person and online therapy sessions.
