Psychological Assessments

Alongside therapy, I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adults.

Assessments are carried out with the same care, curiosity and professionalism that underpin my therapeutic work.

My aim is to develop a detailed understanding of each individual's strengths, challenges and unique profile.

A thorough assessment can provide clarity, validation and practical recommendations that help individuals, families and professionals better understand how someone thinks, learns and experiences the world.

Every assessment includes a detailed formulation of the findings and clear recommendations that can support education, employment, healthcare and everyday life where appropriate.

Whether you are seeking answers for yourself, your child or a family member, I strive to ensure the assessment process feels collaborative, respectful and informative from beginning to end.

See below to find out more about the assessments offered.

Autism Assessments

A consultation will be offered to discuss your unique circumstances. The exact assessments used will depend on the difficulties you have noted as well as who might be available to contribute to the assessment. I will always aim to complete the most robust assessment according to the current NICE guidelines for assessment of autism. Examples of assessments used regularly include the ADOS, ACIA, RAADS-r, AAA, CAT-Q and CAST.

ADHD Assessments

Cognitive Assessments

Child and Adult

The cognitive assessments used are the WISC-V UK (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children) for those aged 6 years to 16 years and 11 months; and the WAIS-IV (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale) for those aged 17 years +. These assessments measure the intellectual ability of children and adults and were developed to provide an overall measure of general cognitive ability.

  • An assessment of adaptive functioning. This can be done with you, and/or parents, carers, or someone who knows you well. This assessment focuses on how well you are able to manage in day to day life. This can take anywhere between 1 hour and 1.5 hours.

  • A cognitive assessment (WAIS-IV). The assessment is conducted face to face and can take anywhere between 1 hour - 2 hours.

You will receive a full report of all components of the assessment (as described above) with recommendations, and a 30 minute follow-up session.
